The problem
A family trying to research senior care usually has two options, and neither is good enough. Most directories that appear in a search are advertising businesses: facilities pay to be listed, pay to rank higher, and pay a fee when a family moves in. What looks like a recommendation is a placement transaction.
The alternative is doing it yourself — opening state licensing portals, reading citation records built for regulators rather than relatives, and reconciling them county by county. It is public information, and it is genuinely hard to use.
For a decision this consequential, families deserve the underlying record, presented plainly, with no one paying to change what they see.
How it works
What makes these directories different

Sourced from official public records
Every listing comes from state licensing boards and federal inspection data — California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing and CMS. Nothing is self-reported by facilities, crowdsourced, or submitted through a profile form.

Facilities cannot buy their position
There is no way for a facility to pay to appear, to rank higher, or to have its record removed. Inclusion follows the licensing record, not a relationship with us.

Refreshed on a documented cycle
Data is refreshed on a regular cycle, and each directory publishes its own sourcing and refresh notes so a reader can trace any listing back to the record it came from.

No placement fees, ever
We are not a referral agency. We receive nothing when a family tours, chooses, or moves into a facility, so nothing in the data is shaped by where a family ends up.
